What exactly does your company do?
We provide graphic design and prepress services for books. In other words, publishers and individual authors send us their Word files (or other text files), photographs, charts, illustrations, maps, etc., and we turn them into computer files for use in the printing industry (and in the eBook industry as well).
Do you provide text and cover design services? Can you lay out and set up books for Kindle, iPads, iPhones, Android, Nook, and other devices?
Yes! We work with our clients to provide interior book body design, and we also provide cover design services. We are happy to provide a cover design based on customer requests and suggestions; many of our customers depend on our creative input for cover designs. We can also provide eBook and ePub files for a variety of tablets and electronic readers.
What type of computer files do you provide for the printing industry? For the digital publishing and eBook industry?
We provide print-ready PDFs (Portable Document Files) according to printing company specifications for use in both offset printing and print-on-demand processes. We can also provide .mobi and .epub files, among other types, according to the need in the eBook industry.
Can you help me set up a book for both print and ebook for services such as CreateSpace®?
Yes.
Are you a publisher?
At times in the past we have published selected works by regional authors. Because of rapid changes in the publishing environment, we are refocusing the efforts of our publishing imprint — Wythe-North Publishing — and we are currently not accepting manuscripts at this time.
What types of fees are involved?
On an earlier version of this site, we had published our fees for creative services. Due to a widening variation of client needs, we are now providing estimates for our services. Please send an email with as much information about your project and we will, in turn, send an estimate for both the price and the time required to prepare your project for publication.
